Sandoz ist ein Unternehmen der Novartis-Gruppe. Gemaess Schaetzungen werden nun mindestens 80% bis 90% aller Antibiotika in China und Indien hergestellt. Indien ist bei den Medikamenten- Grundstoffen jetzt ebenfalls vollstaendig von China (PRC) abhaengig. Aus dem Sandoz-Werk Kundl kommt wahrscheinlich noch der Rest. Es ist schwierig, dass sich der Westen bei den Medikamenten wieder unabhaengig machen kann von Asien. Beim Penicillin in Tabletten-Form deckt das Sandoz-Werk 75% der Welt-Produktion ab. Nach jeder Pandemie wird regelmaessig verlangt, dass Wirkstoffe fuer wichtige Arzneien wieder vermehrt in Europa produziert werden sollen. Laut Novartis Oesterreich gibt es einen extremen Preis-Druck; ein Kilogramm Penicillin kostet am Weltmarkt US-Dollar 20, das ist weniger als fuer Kaugummi. Man kauft einige Wirkstoffe bereits aus China zu; es gab schon Geruechte die Penicillin-Produktion in Kundl sei gefaehrdet. Die Regierung in Wien kuemmert sich bereits um das Thema. Der deutsche Gesundheits-Minister will die Produktion von Wirkstoffen in Europa zu einem Schwerpunkt der deutschen EU-Rats-Praesidentschaft machen. 2015 wollte Sandoz ihr Werk in Frankfurt-Hoechst schliessen; nach Protesten wurde die Fabrik an einen deutschen Investor verkauft. Die maechtigen chinesischen Wettbewerber reagierten sofort; sie senkten den Preis fuer das in Deutschland hergestellte Produkt so stark, dass der deutsche Hersteller Konkurs ging. Nachher erhoehten die Chinesen ihre Preise wieder!! Aus Kosten-Gruenden ist die Produktion von Antibiotika in Europa sehr schwierig; nur marktwirtschaftlich laesst sich das Problem nicht loesen (Massen-Produktion aus Fernost). Das Projekt startet in der Zentralschweiz in der Genossenschaft Migros Luzern; voraussichtlich bis zum Fruehjahr 2021 werden alle Migros-Genossenschaften in der Schweiz neue Sammelstellen anbieten. Der spezielle Plastik-Abfall Sammelsack gibt es in drei Groessen und er kostet zwischen CHF 0.90 und CHF 2.50 (ca. Yen 90 und Yen 250). Die Migros ist fuer dieses Pionier-Projekt eine Partnerschaft mit fuehrenden Kunststoff-Recyling Firmen in der Schweiz eingegangen. Daniel Koch wurde Ende Mai 2020 mit 65 Jahren pensioniert. Der Forscher Althaus warnte bereits im Januar 2020 vor einer moeglichen Pandemie; BAG-Koch beschwichtigte zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch. Andere Epidemologen kritisierten das zoegerliche Vorgehen des Bundes spaeter ebenfalls. Ex-"Mr. Corona" Koch erklaerte seinerseits, er halte die Epidemologen fuer praxis-fern und wenig hilfreich bei der Corona-Pandemie-Bewaeltigung. Forscher Christian Althaus fuehlte sich diskreditiert und er forderte eine parlamentarische Untersuchung. Die Zeitung "Tages-Anzeiger" machte den "Fakten-Check" "Wer hat die Risiken besser eingeschaetzt"? Die Epidemologen und der BAG-Verantwortliche Koch waren sich in der Anfangszeit der Corona- Pandemie nicht einig, was das beste Vorgehen waere. Fuer viele ist Daniel Koch der "Held der Corona-Zeit", trotz Kritik der Epidemologen Christian Althaus und Marcel Salathe, Associate Professor EPFL Lausanne und Head of Digital Epidemiology Lab. Epidemiologe Althaus warnte schon am 26. Januar 2020 eindringlich vor einer Pandemie; Koch versuchte damals oeffentlich zu beruhigen und sprach von Einzelfaellen ausserhalb Chinas. Heute weiss man, die Einschaetzung von Althaus war richtig. Althaus publizierte als einer der ersten in Europa eine Studie zum Corona-Virus Ausbreitungs-Potential. In dieser fruehen Phase mussten sich jedoch auch Epidemiologen noch auf unsichere Daten verlassen. BAG- Vertreter besprachen sich anfaenglich mit Forschern, besonders aus der Praxis (z.B. Swissnoso) oder CRIVE in Genf. Am 13. Maerz 2020 meldete sich eine Gruppe von 25 Forschern mit einem offenen Brief an den Bundesrat (Regierung); dies fuehrte dann zur "Swiss National COVID-19 Science Task Force". Am 24. Februar 2020 aeusserte sich BAG-Koch zur Sterblichkeit bei "COVID-19"; er schaetzte sie etwa in der gleichen Groessen-Ordnung wie bei einer saisonalen Grippe ein. Heute weiss man, Koch lag mit seiner Schaetzung daneben, aber nicht so stark wie damals vermutet wurde. Salathe forderte am 4. Maerz 2020, dass dringend mehr getestet wird um die Epidemie einzudaemmen. Damals waren "PCR-Tests" in der Schweiz wegen Liefer-Problemen lange Zeit Mangel-Ware. Heute weiss man, Tests haben durchaus auch ihre Schwaechen, zeigt ein Aufsatz im "New England Journal of Medicine".
