(Tue. 08.05.2018) 米連邦準備制度理事会(FRB)のジェローム・パウエル議長が、スイス国立銀行 (SNB)と国際通貨基金(IMF)の招きに応じてツューリッヒの高級ホテル「ボーロ ラック」で講演をした。出席者の中にはIMFのクリスティーヌ・ラガルド専務 理事他、国際金融界の著名人も多数参加した。この催しは2010年以来既に8回 目となり、国立銀行の総裁達はバーゼルの国際決済銀行(BIS)の定期会合に参 加する為スイスに集まる。FRB議長は市場の鎮静化を図る演説を試みた。米ド ルの高騰と金利上昇は新興国市場に影響を与える資本流失に繋がる。しかし、 ジェローム・パウエルの市場鎮静化は功を奏しなかった、と新聞記事には書か れた。米ドルの高騰で、投資家は新興国から資金を引き揚げてドル証券に転 換した。影響を被った国々の通貨は価値を失い、同時に金利も上昇する。この 変化は米国の金融政策と財政政策の引き金となり、とりわけ米国金利の上昇と トランプ政権の減税に繋がった。パウエルの演説後、多くの新興国の通貨が価 値を減らしたが、特に圧力を受けたのはアルゼンチンとトルコだった。しかし インドネシア、南アフリカ、ウクライナも更に多くのリスクに晒されている、 と専門家は言う。アルゼンチンでは主要金利が7日足らずの間に27.25％から40 ％に上昇した。これによってアルゼンチン・ペソの価値の低下は減速する筈。 US-Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell made a speech at the Zurich Noble Hotel "Baur au Lac" on the invitation of the Swiss National Bank (SNB) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Also present was IMF Director Mrs. Christine Lagarde and many celebrities from the international financial community. The event has been organized since 2010 for the eighth time; the Central Bankers are then in Switzerland for the regular meeting at the "Bank for International Settlements (BIS)" in Basle. The FED-chief tried in his speech to calm the markets; a strong US-Dollar and rising interest rates in the USA lead to capital drain affecting the emerging markets. However, the reassurance of the markets was not successful by Jerome Powell, is written in the newspaper article. The sharp rise of the US-Dollar causes investors to wind up their investments in the emerging markets and switching to Dollar securities. The currencies in the affected countries lose value and at the same time, interest rates rise there. That development has triggered off American monetary and fiscal policies; among other things, higher US-interest rates and tax reductions by the Trump-Government. Currencies of many emerging countries lost value after Powell's speech; especially under pressure are Argentina and Turkey. Also, Indonesia, South Africa and the Ukraine are at greater risk, say experts. In Argentina, the key interest rate was raised from 27.25% to 40% within seven days. The loss in value of the Argentina Peso should be slowed down with it. Der Vorsitzende des US-"Federal Reserve System" (US-Notenbank) Jerome Powell hielt auf Einladung der Schweizerischen Nationalbank (SNB) und des Internationalen Waehrungsfonds (IWF) eine Rede im Zuercher Nobel-Hotel "Baur au Lac". Anwesend war ebenfalls IWF-Director Christine Lagarde und viele Prominente aus der internationalen Finanzwelt. Die Veranstaltung wird seit 2010 bereits zum achten Mal durchgefuehrt; die Notenbank-Chefs befinden sich dann in der Schweiz fuer das regelmaessige Treffen bei der "Bank fuer Internationalen Zahlungsausgleich (BIZ)" in Basel. Der FED-Chef versuchte in seiner Rede die Maerkte zu beruhigen; ein starker US-Dollar und steigende Zinsen in den USA fuehren zu Kapital-Abfluessen, wovon die Schwellenlaender betroffen sind. Die Beruhigung der Maerkte sei Jerome Powell jedoch nicht gelungen, steht im Zeitungsartikel. Der starke Anstieg des US-Dollar fuehrt dazu, dass Investoren ihre Anlagen in Schwellenlaendern aufloesen und in Dollar-Wertpapiere umschichten. Die Waehrungen in den betroffenen Laendern verlieren an Wert und gleichzeitig steigen dort die Zinsen. Diese Entwicklung hat die amerikanische Geld- und Fiskal-Politik ausgeloest; unter anderem hoehere US-Leitzinsen und Steuer-Ermaessigungen der Regierung Trump. Die Waehrungen vieler Schwellenlaender verloren nach Powell's-Rede an Wert; besonders unter Druck sind Argentinien und die Tuerkei. Aber auch Indonesien, Suedafrika und die Ukraine sind staerker gefaehrdet, sagen Fachleute. In Argentinien wurde der Leitzins innerhalb von sieben Tagen von 27,25% auf 40% erhoehrt. The journalists' network, "Investigate Europe", which has investigated that topic, entitled its report as follows: "BlackRock, The Company That Owns The World?". Because of its economic and political influence, "Black Rock" is considered a "secret world power" and the world's largest "shadow bank" and is therefore criticized by journalists and professionals, according to Wikipedia. The US-company was founded in 1988; it specialized in Exchange-traded Index Funds that closely copy a stock index, such as the "Swiss Market Index". "BlackRock" has become the world's largest asset manager, with over 6,800 billion US-Dollar in managed client funds; it is participated in a total of 17,000 companies. The power is significant, especially in the USA; together with the US-Vanguard Group and US- State Street, "BlackRock" owns nearly at 90% of the 500 largest US- corporations, listed in the major US- stock index "S&P500", most stocks together with these two financial firms. The rising power of asset managers has now alerted the anti-trust authorities. The EU- Commission wants to examine whether the power accumulation of asset managers leads to less competition in the EU too. "BlackRock" has so far managed to remain largely hidden from the general public. BlackRock, world's major asset firm, has around 13,000 employees and clients in more than 100 countries. However, "Black-Rock" refused to answer to the journalists' network, even on written questions! In 2008, BlackRock managed 1,000 billion US-Dollar, and today, it is already 6,300 billion US-Dollar. These assets are essentially the retirement savings of hundreds of millions of people. "BlackRock" is also involved as a shareholder in all larger Swiss companies. Against the vast power of (US)-asset mangers at general meetings, other shareholders can hardly do anything. (Mon. 07.05.2018) 「2026シオン」のオリンピック立候補について、カントン・ヴァリスの住民投 票を1か月前に控えた世論調査は拮抗する結果となった。2018年6月10日ヴァリ スの選挙民は、冬季オリンピック「シオン2026」の立候補に、1億スイスフラ ンの資金拠出を認めるか否かを決定する。回答者の46％は「賛成又はやや賛成」 で、47％は「反対かやや反対」。7％の1,036人はまだ未定。誤差は3％であるこ とから、賛否の傾向は未だ不明だ。回答者の殆どは、オリンピックに依る借金 と予算超過を懸念している。回答者の大半はIOC(国際オリンピック委員会)を信 頼していない。「シオン2026」の他には、カルガリー、ストックホルム、グラ ーツ、札幌、ミラノ・トリノ地方とトルコの候補地が立候補に意欲を示してい る。スイス政府はスイスでの冬季オリンピック開催に大きな期待を寄せている。 その為政府は10億スイスフランの予算を計上する用意をしている。オリンピッ クの巨費は国内経済に短期間の効果しかもたらさない。「シオン2026」の支持 者は、連邦政府の巨額の投資がスイスに多くをもたらすとはっきりとは言わな い！ルツェルン経済大学の観光学科ユルク・シュテットゥラー教授の分析に依 ると、オリンピックで迂回投資するよりも、観光業とスポーツに直接投資する 方がより多くの利益が得られる！ A survey over a month before the referendum in the Canton of Valais on an Olympic candidature of "Sion 2026" resulted in a close result. On June 10, 2018, the Valais eligible voters decide on a Canton of Valais financial contribution of 100 Mio. Swiss francs for the candidature of "Sion 2026" Olympics. 46% of the respondents want to approve the credit "certainly or likely"; 47% of them want to reject the credit "certainly or probably". 7% of the 1,036 respondents are still undecided. There is an error rate of 3%; a Yes or No trend of the vote is therefore not yet possible. The respondents are most worried about the debt and an overdrawn budget due to the Olympics. A large part of the respondents have little confidence in the IOC (International Olympic Committee). Besides "Sion 2026", likely to apply are also Calgary, Stockholm, Graz, Sapporo, the region of Milan/Turin and a place in Turkey. The Swiss Government has great expectations of Olympic Winter Games in Switzerland. Therefore, the Federal Council is ready to invest one billion Swiss francs. The Olympic billion would have only a short-term positive economic impact. However, the supporters of "Sion 2026" do not say that the Federal billion invested specifically brings Switzerland much more! Based on an analysis by Juerg Stettler, Professor of Tourism at the "University of Economics" in Lucerne, tourism and sport would benefit more from direct investments than through the bypass of Olympic Games! Eine Umfrage ueber einen Monat vor der Volksabstimmung im Kanton Wallis ueber eine Olympia Kandidatur von "Sion 2026" ergab ein knappes Resultat. Am 10. Juni 2018 entscheiden die Walliser Stimm-Berechtigten ueber eine finanzielle Beteiligung des Kantons Wallis von 100 Mio. Schweizer Franken fuer die Kandidatur von "Sion 2026" fuer olympische Winter-Spiele. 46% der befragten Stimmbuerger wollen den Kredit "sicher oder wahrscheinlich" gutheissen; 47% wollen den Kredit "sicher oder wahrscheinlich" ablehnen. 7% der 1'036 Befragten sind noch unentschieden. Es besteht eine Fehler-Quote von 3%; ein Ja- oder Nein- Trend fuer die Abstimmung ist deshalb noch nicht moeglich. Am meisten befuerchten die Befragten Schulden und ueberzogene Budgets aufgrund der Olympischen Spiele. Ein grosser Teil der Befragten hat wenig Vertrauen in das IOK (Internationale Olympische Komitee). Neben "Sion 2026" bewerben sich wahrscheinlich Calgary, Stockholm, Graz Sapporo, die Region Mailand/Turin und ein Ort in der Tuerkei. Die Schweizer Regierung hat grosse Erwartungen fuer Olympische Winter-Spiele in der Schweiz. Dafuer ist der Bundesrat bereit eine Milliarde Schweizer Franken zu investieren. Die Olympia-Milliarde haette nur kurzfristig positive volkswirtschaftliche Wirkung. Die Befuerworter von "Sion 2026" sagen aber nicht, dass die Bundes-Milliarde gezielt investiert, der Schweiz viel mehr bringt! Even in democracies, the "own children" are to ensure continuity. North Korea's founder, Kim Il-sung succeeded to install his son Kim Jong-il as successor. Today, the Kim family is in power in the third generation. Non-Communist political dynasties, however, are the rule rather than the exception in Asia. In India, it was Indira Gandhi, the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first premier of India. Singapore was ruled by Lee Kwan Yew for 31 years; his son Lee Hsien Loong has now been ruling the state for 14 years. In South Korea, the disempowered President Park Geun-hye was the daughter of military dictator Park Chung-hee. JAPAN had eight Prime Ministers since the millennium, of which five were from political dynasties. Four were sons or grandsons of former premiers. Abe Shinzo is in the fourth generation, his grandfather and his grand-uncle were both Prime Ministers! The sons are sometimes even more conservative than the parents. Four police officers wanted to arrest a 23-years-old African at the refugee shelter and deport him to Italy according to the "Dublin rules". The man however delayed his arrest until 150-200 asylum seekers solidarized with him. The "Mob" struck onto the police vehicles and threatened the police officers with violence. The police had to withdraw because of the massive "Mob" and to set the arrested African free. The police returned to the asylum shelter after several days with several hundred police officers. Despite the resistance of two dozen asylum seekers, the man was arrested this time. German Political Parties were outraged about the aggressiveness of the asylum seekers. The German Interior Minister demanded a consistent and harsh punishment of the deeds. The regional Minister-President said: "Everyone has to abide by the law in our rule of law-state."
