Minorities, like the Tibetans, were also persecuted. Switzerland was the first European country to accept Tibetan refugees in the 1960s. For many of the Tibetans, Switzerland became a new home. Recently, Tibetans complain that the pressure of the Chinese Government is increasingly felt in Switzerland too. Tibetans feel controlled in Switzerland. Tibetans living here have become more cautious lately, considering twice whether to participate in a demonstration or publicly speak out on politics. This says Ms. Palmo Brunner, who works as a political scientist at the University of Zurich and is active as a Co-President of the association "Tibetan Youth in Europe". The reticence of young Tibetans is justified as follows: "They do not want to actively engage in Switzerland because they are afraid that they would then no longer be able to travel to Tibet or China". However, this is a dream for many Tibetans of the younger generation. Many "Swiss Tibetans" do not want to be seen with Tibetan flags or images of the Dalai Lama at demonstrations. They are afraid that they will be watched by Chinese secret service agents. There are samples that these are well-founded fears. During pro-Tibet demonstrations in Zurich and Berne, it was noticed that from the balcony of the (China) consulate was photographed. On March 10, 2017, exile-Tibetans commemorated the 58th anniversary of the Tibetan National Uprising. Also during the state visit of Xi Jinping in Switzerland was observed, how Chinese citizens photographed participants of the authorized demonstration. Tibetans in Switzerland are also concerned about family members living in Chinese-controlled Tibet. Official receptions of the Dalai Lama would no longer be tolerated by China. Fuer viele der Tibeter wurde die Schweiz eine neue Heimat. Kuerzlich beklagen sich Tibeter, dass der Druck der chinesischen Regierung auch in der Schweiz zunehmend staerker zu spueren sei. Tibeter fuehlen sich hier in der Schweiz ueberwacht. Hier lebende Tibeter seien in letzter Zeit vorsichtiger geworden und ueberlegten es sich gruendlich, ob sie an einer Demonstration teilnehmen oder sich oeffentlich zur Politik aeussern sollen. Dies sagt Palmo Brunner, welche als Politik-Wissenschaftlerin an der Universitaet Zuerich arbeitet und aktiv als Co-Praesidentin des Vereins "Tibeter Jugend in Europa" ist. Die Zurueckhaltung junger Tibeter wird wie folgt begruendet: "Sie wollten sich in der Schweiz nicht aktiv betaetigen, da sie Angst haetten, dass sie dann nicht mehr nach Tibet oder China reisen koennten". Dies sei jedoch ein Traum fuer viele Tibeter der jungen Generation. Viele "Schweiz-Tibeter" wollen nicht mit tibetischen Flaggen oder Bildern des Dalai Lama auf Demonstrationen gesehen werden. Sie haben Angst, dass sie dabei von Mitarbeitern des chinesischen Geheimdienstes beobachtet werden. Es gibt Beispiele, dass es wohlbegruendete Aengste sind. Bei Pro-Tibet Demonstrationen in Zuerich und Bern wurde bemerkt, dass vom Balkon des (China) Konsulats fotografiert wurde. Am 10. Maerz 2017 gedachten Exil-Tibeter an den 58. Jahrestag des tibetischen National-Aufstands. Auch beim Staatsbesuch von Xi Jinping in der Schweiz wurde beobacht, wie chinesische Buerger, Teilnehmer der bewilligten Demonstration fotografierten. Tibeter in der Schweiz machen sich auch Sorgen um Familien-Angehoerige, welche im chinesisch kontrollierten Tibet wohnen. Vielseitige Schweizer Brieftraeger. In the long-term average, the number of addressed letters decreased by 1% to 2% each year. Last year, the decline was even more than 4%. Over the past 10 years, the number of letters has fallen by about 25%. Today, the Swiss Post still employs some 12,000 postmen; 10 years ago it was 16,400. The Post is looking for ways to better utilize the remaining postmen. In Finland or France, the postmen have already taken on additional tasks. Against payment, they also cut the lawn or visit older people, drink coffee with them and inform the relatives that everything is alright. In Switzerland there are also projects with new duties for postmen. Under the term "last mile", postmen deliver vegetables, pick up used Nespresso capsules, collect bags with old clothes or deliver online shopping for local "Volg-Shops". In the Canton of Graubuenden, the postmen collects old paper and cardboard on a weekly basis, depending on the location. Other projects are the collection of used clothes, shoes, books, CDs or DVDs, etc. The reactions of the postmen are very different, reports the staff magazine. Die Schweizer Post sucht neue Aufgaben fuer ihre Brieftraeger; der Grund dafuer ist, dass immer weniger Briefe verschickt werden. Im langjaehrigen Durchschnitt sank die Zahl der adressierten Briefe um jaehrlich 1% bis 2%. Letztes Jahr war der Rueckgang sogar mehr als 4%. Ueber die letzten 10 Jahre ging die Zahl der Briefe um zirka 25% zurueck. Heute beschaeftigt die Schweizer Post noch zirka 12'000 Brieftraeger; vor 10 Jahren waren es 16'400. Die Post sucht nach Moeglichkeiten die restlichen Postboten besser auszulasten. In Finnland oder Frankreich haben die Brieftraeger bereits weitere Aufgabern uebernommen. Gegen Bezahlung maehen sie auch den Rasen oder sie besuchen aeltere Menschen, trinken mit ihnen Kaffee und informieren die Angehoerigen, dass alles in Ordnung ist. In der Schweiz gibt es auch Projekte mit neuen Aufgaben fuer Brieftraeger. Unter dem Slogan "letzte Meile", liefern Brieftraeger Gemuese aus, holen gebrauchte Nespresso-Kapseln ab, sammeln Saecke mit Alt-Kleidern ein oder liefern Online-Einkaeufe fuer die "Volg"-Dorflaeden aus. Im Kt. Graubuenden sammelt der Brieftraeger je nach Ort woechentlich Alt- Papier und Karton ein. Weitere Projekte sind das Einsammeln von gebrauchten Kleider, Schuhen, Buecher, CDs oder DVDs usw. Die Reaktionen der Brieftraeger seien sehr unterschiedlich, schreibt die Personal-Zeitung. Whistle-Blower in der Welt der Forschung. Three whistle-blowers told their story; for the truth, these people risk their health and career. Nonetheless, whistle-blowers are often considered "nest polluters" in science. In Sweden, the Italian surgeon Paolo Macchiarini was the subject of whistle-blowing; it was about the disputed transplantation of artificial air tubes. The media celebrated the surgeon as a "life saver"; Macchiarini had never tested his treatment method. Besides, he sugar-coated the success of his method in scientific publications. The patients suffered under these agonizing operations; Surgeon Karl-Henrik Grinnemo of the "Karolinska Institute" in Stockholm, together with three colleagues, uncovered this research scandal, one of the biggest in recent times. The four whistle-blowers were then "bullied" by colleagues and bosses. Even an external expert proved that "Macchiarini's" research data was faked, but he was allowed to continue at that time. In Schweden wurde der italienische Chirurg Paolo Macchiarini zum Thema; es ging um die Transplantation von kuenstlichen Luftroehren. Die Medien feierten den Chirurg als "Lebens-Retter"; Macchiarini hatte diese Behandlungs- Methode nie getestet. But, Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov rejected the UK-Ultimatum demanding access to the nerve poison samples. Russia is innocent and UK does not abide by the rules of the chemical weapons convention, he said. According to the Swiss SRF-radio Correspondent in the UK, there are also domestic political motives for May's confrontation with Russia. Premier May is weakened, preparations for the Brexit are taking up all of their strength, and so far the matter has been handled little skillful. Direct accusations at the Russian State and the personal accusation against Putin by Theresa May are not beyond all doubt! It cannot be excluded that this nerve poison has come into the hands of criminals or dissident members of the Russian secret service. Such possibilities have now been ruled out by the UK-Government. The investigative journalist had published several articles about corrupt schemes in the State of Slovakia. Most recently, the journalist researched alleged links between the Government party and the Italian mafia. Due to the big demonstrations, the Interior Minister Robert Kalinak had resigned then. Now, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has also resigned. It is in the air whether early elections can be avoided with a "radical re-organization of the Government". The team of the John Wayne movie "The Conqueror" became a victim of radioactivity too. 91 members of the 220-persons crew got cancer.
