The rats move on the sidewalk, they eat from waste bags before restaurants and supermarkets. They rush over the subway tracks and in the "Upper West Side", the rats jump even in baby buggies to get the baby's cookies!! This seems to be just the beginning of the "rat plague". The well-known US-rat expert Bobby Corrigan says: "The number of rats are increasing and this is due to global climate change." The natural enemy of rats are cold winters; then the waste and other food is frozen under the snow. The coat of the rats is also thin and only the most powerful animals survive in the fight for warm nests. In mild winters, the rats breed faster. In certain regions, there are "five rats on every inhabitant"; a town dweller in Washington describes "rats as big as cats". The City of New York has the largest rat problem among all US-Cities; especially the old sewage works and the dense settlement are responsible for it. No one knows how many rats live in New York, but there will be several millions. New "rat records" are also being reported from Boston, Houston and Washington; in Chicago, the number of rats has increased by 9% compared to the previous year. Rats become a real health risk; they transmit coli bacteria and salmonella. In New York, a person has recently died of the bacterial disease Leptospirosis; that was transmitted by a rat. The damage caused by nibbling rats on the infrastructure and houses is reaching billions every year. Despite counter-measures by the authorities, the rat expert Corrigan is not very confident as long as people do not begin to properly dispose of their waste. Der natuerliche Feind der Ratten sind kalte Winter; dann ist der Abfall und andere Nahrung unter dem Schnee festgefroren. Das Fell der Ratten ist zudem duenn und nur die kraeftigsten Tiere ueberleben im Kampf um warme Nester. In milden Winter pflanzen sich die Ratten schneller fort. In gewissen Gegenden kommen "5 Ratten auf jeden Einwohner"; eine Bewohnerin in Washington beschreibt "Ratten, die so gross wie Katzen" sind. Die Stadt New York hat das groesste Ratten- Problem aller US-Staedte; daran schuld sind besonders die alten Abwasser-Anlagen und die dichte Besiedelung. Es weiss niemand wie viele Ratten in New York leben, es werden aber mehrere Millionen sein. Auch aus Boston, Houston und Washington werden immer neue "Ratten- Rekorde" gemeldet; in Chicago ist die Zahl im Vergleich zum Vorjahr um 9% gestiegen. Ratten werden zu einem echten Gesundheitsrisiko; sie uebertragen Kolibakterien und Salmonellen. In New York ist kuerzlich sogar ein Mensch an der Bakterien-Krankheit Leptospirose gestorben; diese wurde durch eine Ratte uebertragen. Die Schaeden, welche knabbernde Ratten an der Infrastruktur und an Haeusern anrichten, belaufen sich auf Milliarden jedes Jahr. Trotz Gegen-Massnahmen der Behoerden, ist der Ratten-Experte Corrigan nicht sehr zuversichtlich, solange die Menschen nicht beginnen, ihren Abfall korrekt zu entsorgen. According to these ideas, the future of the Korean peninsula shall be negotiated mainly between the USA and China. The South Koreans are afraid that their fate might be decided in Washington, Beijing or Pyongyang. South Korea's President Moon Jae-in has stressed several times that the USA had assured him to launch no military attack on North Korea without South Korea's consent. The USA has never officially confirmed this assurance! The "Kissinger Plan" has recently added another "fear". Henry Kissinger has published his plan in an article entitled "How to Resolve the North Korea Crisis" in "The Wall Street Journal." It was reported that Jared Kushner and Trump's daughter Ivanka would soon introduce the plan to China's President Xi Jinping. As "advisor" of Kushner, Kissinger has resumed his old role as "secret mediator", said ex-China director in the Pentagon, Mr. Joseph Bosco. According to the "New York Times", such a visit however is not taking place now. The Washington-correspondent of South Korea's newspaper "Joongang Ilbo" substantiated "Kissinger's Grand Bargain" without mentioning sources. Laut diesen Ideen, soll die Zukunft der koreanischen Halbinsel vor allem zwischen den USA und China ausgehandelt werden. Die Suedkoreaner haben Angst, dass ihr Schicksal in Washington, Beijing oder Pyongyang entschieden werden koennte. One year ago, Mr. Haeni was the organizer of the "Initiative for an unconditional basic income" in Switzerland. Now, the Swiss was invited to Berlin by the German NGO "Mehr Demokratie" (More Democracy). The NGO has been fighting for "German Popular Votes" since 1989; the NGO wants to stir up the sluggish election campaign in Germany now. In the German Parliament (Bundestag), however, two-thirds of the assemblymen have to approve it; so far the CDU-party has prevented that.
