Criminals gained access to apartments through the hacked "Airbnb" user profiles, leaving the homes empty behind. An "Airbnb" co-founder promises now to eliminate these weak spots in a blog post. British "BBC" reported, how "creative" criminals burglarized undisturbed the apartments of "Airbnb" landlords via"Airbnb"; affected are landlords in different countries. "Airbnb" profiles of trustworthy users were hacked by criminals. They manipulated the profiles with other pictures and personal data, without the "real" users noticed something of it. Verified "Airbnb" users have registered with an official ID at the Internet platform and should therefore be particularly trustworthy for the landlord. A landlord complained in a "BBC interview" that his apartment, rented to an "alleged" "Airbnb" user, was cleared by burglars. That was a shock for the landlord. "Airbnb" has now promised to improve the security settings. The "Airbnb" platform wants to introduce a multi-factor authentication; Google, Facebook and many other Internet services have it already for a long time. If basic user data is changed, then "Airbnb" sends a SMS with code, which must be confirmed by the user. That intends to reduce the risk that criminals can illegally gain access to "Airbnb accounts" and are able to manipulate them. The decree by US- President Trump requires a review of the visa program; it is said to have been exploited by companies in the past. Foreign workers are said to have been hired for less qualified work and paid worse than local workers. For a change in the number of 85,000 permits, a new law would be needed. A reform of the visa program "H-1B" was already a promise of Donald Trump in the election campaign. US-tech firms are afraid of more stringent recruitment rules. Critics from the "Silicon Valley" also say that the current regulation is frequently abused to outsource jobs. A large number of these visas are effectively accorded to foreign companies, making the "outsourcing" of activities possible. Large tech-companies like Facebook or Google also criticize that. If the system is reformed profoundly, such as a reduction in the upper limit of permits, then the US-labor market would be harmed, said Andreas Beerli from the Swiss "KOF" of ETH Zurich. A more stringent US-policy could show positive results for Europe and Switzerland. Highly-qualified persons in various economic sectors, especially in the information and communication sector (ICT) are wanted here. The "Global Talent Competitiveness Index" of the French school "Insead" shows that in 2017, as in previous years, Switzerland is ranked first, ahead of Singapore (2), Great Britain and the USA. Now, so-called "Crowdlending companies" have stepped into the gap, which act as agents for loans on Internet platforms. Loans in the amount of CHF 50,000 to CHF 300,000 are too small and too expensive for many banks. The business with internet loans grows therefore strongly, but temporarily on a low level. The money of the "Crowdlending companies" often comes from small investors (savers, private investors) who receive an interest rate of 5% on average. The majority of these "Crowdlending companies" have only started their business a few months ago; the names of companies mentioned are "Swisspeers, Cashare, Creditgate24, Creditworld or Lendico. SME-companies are often asked by banks to repay a loan, and the company has too late made an effort to get another bank loan. Such Internet loans can then be essential for survival for many small businesses. Declining profits for smaller industrial companies mean that they are classified by banks with a higher risk. That causes higher interest rates for SMEs so that they have to look for alternatives. Banks are reluctant in credit lending if the company is doing badly and if it is possible that the credit cannot be repaid. Internet loans are of interest to SMEs, if they have to bridge a liquidity squeeze or for making an investment. There is the opinion that "Crowdlending platforms" can gain market shares, but cannot replace the banks. For larger purchases of a company (e.g. machines etc.), the financing by an Internet platform is not sufficient. Das Geld der "Crowdlending-Firmen" kommt oft von Klein-Anlegern (Sparer, private Investoren), welche dafuer im Durchschnitt einen Zins von 5% erhalten. Die Mehrheit dieser "Crowdlending-Firmen" haben ihre Geschaefts- taetigkeit erst seit wenigen Monaten aufgenommen; erwaehnt werden die Namen der Firmen "Swisspeers, Cashare, Creditgate24, Creditworld oder Lendico. Oft ist es so, dass Banken von KMU-Unternehmen die Abloesung eines Kredits verlangen und sich die Firma zu spaet um einen anderen Bankkredit bemueht. Solche Internet-Kredite koennen dann fuer viele Klein-Betriebe ueberlebenswichtig sein. Sinkende Gewinne bei kleineren Industrie-Betrieben fuehren dazu, dass sie von Banken mit einem hoeheren Risiko eingestuft werden. Dies verursacht hoehere Kredit-Zinsen fuer die KMUs, sodass sie sich nach Alternativen umsehen. Die Banken sind zurueckhaltend bei der Kredit-Vergabe, wenn es Firmen schlecht geht und der Kredit allenfalls nicht mehr zurueckbezahlt werden kann. Internet-Kredite seien fuer KMUs interessant, wenn diese einen Liquiditaets-Engpass ueberbruecken muessen, eine Investition taetigen wollten. Es besteht die Meinung, dass "Crowdlending-Plattformen" Marktanteile gewinnen koennen, nicht jedoch die Banken ersetzen koennten. Fuer groessere Anschaffungen eines Betriebs (Maschinen etc.) reicht die Finanzierung ueber die Internet-Plattform nicht. As source for these accusations, "Frontex" mentions the statements of refugees. The NGOs are accused of making common cause with the Libyan Mafia. The Italian prosecutor, Mr. Carmelo Zuccaro, is investigating this matter. After an appearance in the Italian Parliament, the newspapers reported that the NGOs would promote the Libyan human traffickers with a sort of "Taxi-service" to Italy. The prosecutor wants to find out why the NGO-ships expand into Libyan waters and wherefrom they get the "lots of money" for the operations. There is the suspicion that the NGOs would also cover their costs with money from the "human trafficker- business". However, their sensitivity and intelligence is impressive. In the book "Other Minds" the philosopher and diver Peter Godfrey-Smith wrote about these cephalopods; there are even commonalities with humans, for example the short-term and long-term memory. The largest part of their unusual brain, is not in the head of these cephalopods, but in the extremities.
