Mit dem Austritt von Grossbritannien aus der EU gewinne die Schweiz einen neuen Verbuendeten und moeglichen Partner ausserhalb des europaeischen Staaten-Clubs hinzu. Es drohe aber auch gleichzeitig Konkurrenz. Grossbritannien koennte zu einem "ernsthaften" Konkurrenten im Bereich der Unternehmens-Besteuerung werden, meint der Schweizer Finanz-Minister. Der britische Austritt (Brexit) aus der EU bewertet Ueli Maurer als Aufbruch zu richtigen und wichtigen Veraenderungs-Prozessen innerhalb der Europaeischen Union (EU). Laut dem Schweizer Bundesrat sind mehr Freiheit fuer die einzelnen Mitglieds-Staaten und ein hoeheres Mass an Flexibilitaet gefordert, um das Staaten-Buendnis zukunfts-faehig zu machen. Von solchen (EU)-Reformen koenne ebenfalls die Schweiz mittel- bis langfristig profitieren. Im Interview sprach der Schweizer Finanz-Minister den von "Brexit-Prognosen" geplagten Briten Mut zu. Er weist auf die ausgewiesenen Staerken von Grossbritannien im Bereich der Hochschul-Bildung (UK-Universitaeten) und der Finanz-Dienstleistungen (City of London) hin. Der aktuelle britische Aussen-Minister Boris Johnson hatte frueher einmal scherzhaft von einer Zweck-Union "Britzerland" gesprochen, dies loeste in der Schweiz viel Begeisterung aus. The USA and other nuclear powers are boycotting the negotiations. 123 of the 193 UN-member states support the talks; more than 70 years after the A-bomb attacks on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the United Nations have started negotiations on a ban on nuclear weapons. None of the nine states, which are likely to have nuclear weapons, are taking part in the talks. The US-Ambassador to the United Nations declared, with the representatives of nearly 40 other states, not to participate in the negotiations. Among the nuclear powers are Great Britain, France, China, India and Pakistan. Israel has never confirmed the possession of nuclear weapons, but hasn't denied it. Germany, like most NATO-countries, voted against the UN-General Assembly landmark resolution of October 27, 2016. Even Japan, which was the only country attacked by nuclear bombs in Hiroshima and Nagasaki, voted against negotiations. A clear majority of the UN-member states are no longer willing to leave the nuclear issue only to the nuclear powers. There is a shift in morale and international law. Nuclear weapons shall be declared to be illegal, as it has already happened with chemical weapons, cluster bombs and land-mines. There is already a "Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT)" from the year 1968, since then 50 years have passed and almost nothing happened. The nuclear states did not adhere to the disarmament duty. Switzerland abstained in the vote; the abstention may have taken place for tactical reasons, in order to be able to perform an intermediary function later on. At the beginning of the talks, the Japanese Hiroshima A-bomb survivor Fujimori Toshiki made an emotional appeal to the diplomats. In the United Nations Assembly hall he said, "I am here at the U.N. asking for an abolition of nuclear weapons". "Nobody in any country deserves seeing the same hell again." Atom-Waffen sollen fuer illegal erklaert werden, wie das bereits bei Chemie- Waffen, Streubomben und Landminien passiert ist. Es gibt schon einen Atom-Waffen-Sperrvertrag aus dem Jahr 1968, seither sind 50 Jahre vergangen und es ist fast nichts passiert. Die Atom-Staaten hielten sich nicht an die Abruestungs-Pflicht. Die Schweiz hat sich bei der Abstimmung der Stimme enthalten; die Enthaltung koennte aus einem taktischen Grund erfolgt sein, um spaeter eine Vermittler-Funktion wahrnehmen zu koennen.
