The USA carried out more arms deals than under any of his predecessor in the past 60 years. US- President Obama was once elected as <Anti-War-Candidate> and in 2009 he was even awarded the Nobel Prize for Peace. Mr. William Hartung, researcher at the <Center for International Policy>, who analyzes the US-arms deals for years is irritated about that fact. Even under US- Nixon less war-planes, battle helicopters, tanks etc. were sold, confirmed the researcher. Researcher Hartung gives several explanations about the strongly increased US-arms sales. The USA don't want to deploy (own) forces in abroad; arms sales and military training are the alternative, says Mr. Hartung. The allied States or groups should fight on their own without the support of US-soldiers, explained Mr. Hartung. In the first five years of office of US-Obama the USA sold on the average armaments amounting to 33 billion US- Dollar per year. Under US-President George W. Bush it was only half of it, this shows the annual statistics of the US-Pentagon. Besides, Obama economizes money at the US-military forces; the US-arms industry is looking for new customers, particularly in the Middle East. The biggest buyer of US-arms is Saudi-Arabia; in 2010, the USA arranged arms deals amounting to 60 billion US-Dollar. That is the biggest arms deal of all time with Saudi-Arabia. Meanwhile, already new US-arms sales have taken place to that country. Researcher Hartung criticizes and fears that many US-arms may fall into the <wrong hands>. A control of so many arms isn't possible. The Saudi Arabians have recently killed many civilians in Yemen and committed maybe even war crimes! That may show how the USA is implicated into conflicts through arms sales, is Hartung convinced. With regard to arms sales of the USA, the US-President has always the last word; President Obama could therefore have well acted differently. Hartung says (Peace-) Obama should set new standards. Obama <should stop sales to warring countries and to countries, which violate the human rights>, means Hartung. Sogar unter US-Nixon sind weniger Kriegs-Flugzeuge, Kampf-Helikopter, Panzer usw. verkauft worden, stellt der Forscher fest. Forscher Hartung gibt mehrere Erklaerungen zu den stark gestiegenen US-Waffen-Verkaeufen. Die USA wollen keine (eigenen) Truppen mehr ins Ausland schicken; Waffen-Verkaeufe und militaerische Ausbildung seien die Alternative, sagt Mr. Hartung. Die alliierten Staaten oder Gruppen sollen, ohne Unterstuetzung von US-Soldaten, selber kaempfen, erklaert Mr. Hartung. In den ersten fuenf Amts-Jahren von US-Obama verkauften die USA durchschnittlich Ruestungs-Gueter im Wert von 33 Mrd. US-Dollar pro Jahr. Unter US-Praesident George W. Bush waren es nur die Haelfte, dies zeigt die jaehrliche Statistik des US-Pentagon. Obama spart zudem beim US-Militaer; die Waffen-Industrie in den USA sucht deshalb neue Kunden, inbesondere im Nahen Osten. Der groesste Kaeufer von US- Waffen ist Saudi-Arabien; im 2010 vereinbarten die USA Waffen- Lieferungen im Wert von 60 Mrd. US-Dollar. Dies ist der groesste Ruestungs-Verkauf aller Zeiten mit Saudi-Arabien. In der Zwischenzeit gibt es bereits wieder neue US-Verkaeufe an das Land. Forscher Hartung kritisiert und fuerchtet, dass die vielen US-Waffen in <falsche Haende> fallen koennten. Eine Kontrolle so vieler Waffen sei nicht moeglich. Die Saudis haetten in letzter Zeit in Jemen viele Zivilisten getoetet und eventuell sogar Kriegs-Verbrechen begangen! Dies zeige wie die USA ueber Waffen-Verkaeufe in Konflikte hinein gezogen wuerden, ist Hartung ueberzeugt. Bei Waffen-Exporten der USA hat der US-Praesident immer das letzte Wort; Praesident Obama koennte deshalb auch anders handeln. Hartung sagt, (Friedens-) Obama sollte neue Standards festlegen. There he experienced the beauty of nature, but also the fact how TRASH ruins it. On a Monday in December 2013 together with the Basle Mr. Darius Vakili and local Thais, he got the idea to clean up a beach from trash at the National Park on the island of Kop Lipe. The Swiss wanted to do something good with his helpers because on the beach about 60 tons of trash had piled up. On the evening of that working day, there was a great joy among all helpers about the neatly cleaned up beach. There was however still much work left regarding to the clearing away of waste at all beaches at the National-Park. The volunteers came now every Monday to clean up more beaches. Based on the Swiss idea, a large movement of volunteers had emerged meanwhile. The Swiss founded the association <Trash Hero Thailand> with domicile at the Canton of Lucerne. More than 2,300 volunteers and about 50 tons of trash had been collected. The campaign of the Swiss had started with just 17 helpers, but received great attention in the country. More and more locals and also tourists participate on the cleanup work. Now, already 16 local groups exist in Thailand and Indonesia. Since the start of the project the end of 2013, about 4,800 volunteers had participated and about 95 tons of trash was collected. The trash is sorted out and if possible recycled. <Trash Hero> co-operates with local authorities (Navy, Tourist, National-Park); on the island of Koh Rawi the trash is processed at a storage place. Dort erlebte er die Schoenheit der Natur, aber auch die Tatsache wie sie durch ABFALL kaputt gemacht wird. An einem Montag im Dezember 2013 hatte er mit dem Basler Darius Vakili und lokalen Thailaendern die Idee einen Strand im National-Park aus der Insel Koh Lipe von Abfall zu saeubern. Der Schweizer wollte mit seinen Helfern etwas Gutes tun, da sich auf dem Strand zirka 60 Tonnen Abfall (TRASH) angesammelt hatte. Am Abend des Arbeitstags war die Freude ueber den sauber aufgeraeumten Strand bei Allen gross. Es blieb jedoch noch viel Arbeit um auf allen Straenden im National-Park den Abfall weg zu raeumen. Die Freiwilligen kamen dann jeden Monat um weitere Straende zu reinigen. Aus der Schweizer Idee ist inzwischen eine groessere Bewegung von Freiwilligen entstanden. Der Schweizer gruendete den Verein <Trash Hero Thailand> mit Domizil im Kanton Luzern. Mehr als 2'300 Helfer und zirka 50 Tonnen Abfall (Trash) wurden eingesammelt. Die Aktion des Schweizers mit anfangs 17 Helfern bekam grosse Aufmerksamkeit im Land; immer mehr Einheimische und auch Touristen nehmen an den Aufraeum-Aktionen teil. Es existieren jetzt schon 16 Orts-Gruppen in Thailand und Indonesien. Seit Beginn des Projekts Ende 2013 beteiligten sich ca. 4'800 Freiwillige und es wurde ca. 95 Tonnen Abfall eingesammelt. Der Abfall wird aussortiert und soweit moeglich rezykliert. Der Verein <Trash Hero> arbeitet mit den lokalen Behoerden (Marine, Tourist, Nationalpark) zusammen; auf der Insel Koh Rawi wird der Abfall in einem Lager verarbeitet.
