It was reported as a sensation that the only 1,58 meters tall <Snowboarder> was ranked as number two behind the Olympic winner at the <X-Games> in Aspen (USA). With his jump in the <Half-Pipe>, the athlete flew nearly five meters out of the <Half-Pipe>; with that jump, he jumped over his own body size by the trifold. The Swiss Chief-Trainer recognized the talent of the Japanese already two years ago when he was just 12-years old. He said: <The Japanese have that <<Kamikaze-spirit>> and no fear of a fall>. Now, Hirano-san participates also at the <Burton European Open> in Laax (Switzerland); according to the latest news, the Japanese won the race ahead of the Swiss Double World Champion. At the age of 4-years, he made already the first jumps on a snowboard in the neighborhood of Murakami-City. (Mon. 04.02.2013 Smi) Verschmutzte Luft aus Peking kommt nach Japan. 日本の環境省は、汚染大気が中国から風で日本に運ばれて来たと発表した。 子供と呼吸器疾患の患者は出来る限り外出しないよう勧めている。同省の地 図には特に深刻な地域が示されており、警告色のピンク、赤、オレンジで有 害な大気汚染微粒子の分布を示している。国立環境研究所（NIES）の上級研 究員清水厚によると、大気汚染は数日前既に政府の許容限界値を超えている 。有害物質について、人々は注意するようアドヴァイスしている。九州大学 応用力学研究所で研究をしている竹村俊彦は、中国から来る大気汚染物質は 既に10年前前から観測されていると説明。日本の特定の地域では外国から来 る毒が既にほぼ日常化しているようだ。清水さんは、中国に工業用フィルタ ーで空気浄化をするよう要求すべきだと言う。 （出典：2013年2月4日 付ブリック紙オンライン版/ニュースオンライン紙） The Japanese Ministry of Environment informed that the polluted air (smog) from China was brought to Japan by winds. It was recommended that children and people with respiratory problems shouldn't possibly stay outside. A map by the Ministry showed the particulary endangered regions; with warning colours (pink, red and orange), the poisonous particles were illustrated. According to the researcher Shimizu Atsushi of the Japanese <National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES)>, the air pollution had passed the allowable limit of the Government already in the past days. There are poisonous particles and he recommends people to be careful. Takemura Toshihiko, who researches at the <University Kyushu> explained that the air pollution from China had ben observed already ten years ago. In certain parts of Japan, the foreign poison had become already almost common. According to Shimizu- san, China should be requested to use air-cleaning industry-filters. The deputies were particularly interested in the <Energy- and Climate Policy> of Zug; the delegation was received by the Vice- President of the City Council of Zug at the Town Hall. The visitors from Japan were informed about the objectives and the measures of the energy- and climate strategy; the Japanese were particularly impressed by the use of <seawater (lakewater) heat pumps> for heating. The path of the town into the direction of a <2,000 watt-society> was a theme too. At home in Japan, the deputies want to make new proposals regarding to the theme of energy. The people want to cover the energy demand in the future mostly with local resources. The Parliament member <Mori Ai> of the Ota-ku district was amazed how rapidly the technological progress was implemented in the building code in Zug. The Japanese traveled later to Zurich. Auf ihrer Studienreise durch Europa machten acht japanische Parlamentarier aus dem Bezirk Ota-ku (Tokyo) einen Arbeits-Besuch in der Stadt Zug. Die Abgeordneten interessierten sich dabei ganz besonders fuer die <Energie- und Klima-Politik> von Zug; die Delegation wurde vom Vize-Praesident des Stadtrats von Zug im Stadthaus empfangen. Die Besucher aus Japan wurden ueber die Ziele und Massnahmen der Energie- und Klima-Strategie informiert; die Japaner zeigten sich besonders beeindruckt ueber den Einsatz von <Seewasser- Waerme-Pumpen> zum Heizen. Der Weg der Stadt Zug zur <2000-Watt- Gesellschaft> war ebenfalls ein Thema. Zu hause in Japan wollen die Abgeordneten jetzt neue Vorschlaege machen in Bezug auf das Thema Energie. Die Leute wollen den Energie-Bedarf in Zukunft moeglichst mit lokalen Rohstoffen decken. The fund has so far invested 67% of its assets into <Japanese Government Bonds>. The public pension fund has an investment capacity of 108 trillions JPY (853 Bn. Euro) and is thereby the <biggest> pension fund in the world. The reason for a (possible) change of the investment strategy in April 2013 is based in the fact that the fund is worried about the <expansive> monetary policy of the <Bank of Japan>. On the total assets of the funds amounting to 28.5 Bn. Swiss Francs (CHF), a net yield of 6.4% was produced last year. Due to friendly financial markets and exchange profits on foreign currencies, the assets increased therefore by 1.8 Bn. CHF. The yield on the <net assets> without taking into account of the liquid assets had been even 7%. In the previous year (2011), the yield on the assets was only 1.53%. According to the President of the Board of Administration, measures in the field of risk management and regarding to the hedging of currencies had contributed to that good result. 60% of the assets are managed by about 40 own employees. Schweizer Franken (CHF) gab es im letzten Jahr eine Netto-Rendite von 6,4% und wegen guten Aktien- Maerkten und Kurs-Gewinnen auf Fremdwaehrungen stieg das Vermoegen somit um 1,8 Mrd. CHF. Die Rendite auf dem <reinen> Anlage-Vermoegen, ohne Beruecksichtigung der fluessigen Mittel, betrug (sogar) 7%. Im Vorjahr (2011) erzielte das Anlage-Vermoegen nur eine Rendite von 1,53%. Euro for their brain research project called <Human Brain Project> within the scope of the <European Research Promotion>. The <EU> declared the ambitious Swiss project to a so-called <flagship> project within the scope of the EU-research. The <EPFL> in Lausanne has increased its position in the meantime to an university of world level and it has recently gained partly more success than the <ETH Zurich>. The <Human Brain Project (HBP)> cost overal 1.19 Bn. Euro over a period of the coming 10 years; thereof the <EU> pays 50% and the remaining 50% are paid by Switzerland. The human brain shall be <virtually> simulated by super-computers and software in doing so up to 100 Bn. nerve cells and their coaction shall be recalculated step by step. Previously the top chef pleased the guests at the restaurant <Spice> in Zurich; in Switzerland he had <16 Gault Millau> points and <1 Michelin Star>. Among their guests in Rangoon are particularly wealthy local people and foreign businessmen. The Swiss train at the restaurant local staff and the working conditions (salary, holiday etc.) are unique for Burma. The Swiss are tenant; the restaurant was established already 15 years ago by the French Swiss Mr. Boris Granges. The Swiss chef checks each plate bevor its leaves the kitchen; in doing so he can assure the quality and the presentation of the food (such as Wagyu-beef, Caviar etc.) He employs now already 50 employees; for the staff a visit of <Aung San Suu Kyi> is always as particular highlight. Vorher begeisterte der Spitzenkoch im Restaurant <Spice> in Zuerich die Gaeste; in der Schweiz hatte er <16 Gault Millau> Punkte und <1 Michelin-Stern>. Zu ihren Gaesten in Rangun zaehlen besonders wohlhabende Einheimische und auslaendische Geschaeftsleute. Die Schweizer bilden im Restaurant lokales Personal aus und die Arbeitsbedingungen (Lohn, Ferien etc.) sind einmalig fuer Burma. Die Schweizer sind Paechter; das Restaurant hat der Westschweizer Boris Granges bereits vor 15 Jahren aufgebaut. Der Schweizer Chef ueberwacht jeden Teller bevor dieser die Kueche verlaesst; so stellt er die Qualitaet und die Praesentation der Speisen (z.B. Wagyu-Beef, Kaviar etc.) sicher. Er beschaeftigt jetzt bereits 50 Mitarbeiter; fuer diese ist ein Besuch von <Aung San Suu Kyi> jeweils ein besonderer Hoehepunkt. According to the newspaper report, the US- military had chased the one-eyed leader of that group already 10 years ago (in 2003). The USA then thought whether to kill, to capture, or to simply let run the terrorist Mokhtar Belmokhtar. The man was on a list of the United Nations (UN) as supporter of the Taliban and the al- Qaida. Because he had however (not yet) attacked any Americans and he was considered to be no danger outside of his area of residence in the desert, no actions were taken. It was said that already air raids were planned on the man, the US-consulate in Mali had however spoken against such plans, that wrote the <Washington Post> in its article. In the report was written that this case showed how the US-battle against the terror in Mali had failed; the <Washington Post> sees <Belmokhtar> as a symbol for the fact how the USA failed to reach its objective to prevent the build-up of al-Qaida in Africa for the last 10 years. Gemaess dem Zeitungsbericht haette das US-Militaer den ein-aeugigen Anfuehrer dieser Gruppe bereits vor 10 Jahren (2003) verfolgt. Die USA ueberlegte sich damals den Terroristen Mokhtar Belmokhtar zu toeten, zu fangen oder einfach laufen zu lassen. Der Mann war auf einer Liste der UNO als Unterstuetzer der Taliban und der al-Qaida aufgefuehrt. Da er jedoch (noch) keine Amerikaner angegriffen hatte und ausserhalb seines Aufenthalts-Gebiet im Wuestenland keine Gefahr schien, passierte nichts. Es seien bereits Luft-Angriffe auf den Mann geplant gewesen, das US-Konsulat in Mali habe sich jedoch damals gegen den Plan ausgesprochen, dies schreibt die <Washington Post> in ihrem Artikel. Im Bericht wird geschrieben, dieser Fall zeige wie der US-Kampf gegen den Terror in Mali scheiterte; die <Washington Post> sieht <Belmokhtar> als Symbol dafuer, wie die USA in den letzten 10 Jahren ihr Ziel verfehlten, den Aufbau der al-Qaida in Afrika zu verhindern. We were lucky to visit a special worship place that is not open to the public usually.
