According to that there are 266 restaurants in Tokyo with a minimum of one (*) star. In the proximate neighborhood of Tokyo, the <Guide Michelin> indicates 14 restaurants, which have the maximum top score of (***) stars this year; in the <motherland> of the gourmets in the City of Paris, there are however only just 10 restaurants. The number of restaurants in Tokyo amounts to 160,000, whereas the number in Paris is 60 000. On the whole world, there are about 2,1billion cards of <China UnionPay> in circulation; enterprises, which will accept the cards in Switzerland, can expect a considerable volume in turnover, because the number of Chinese guests, which visit Switzerland, shows a strong increase. In the first nine months of this year, more than 300,000 overnight stays from China were recorded; in comparison to the previous year, that is an increase of more than 50%. Already since 2006, they can withdraw cash with their cards at the ATM's. The precious pieces of art, handmade by Japanese masters (Takumi) according to the <Maki-e> technique cost all of 2,500 to 135,000 Swiss Francs. Two Japanese <Maki-e> masters, Mr. Tamura Isshu and Mr. Hata Hiroshi are present during the exhibition up to December 24, 2010 and they can be watched while their doing their craft. The completion of certain pieces of art can take more than ten years. The special exhibition is open during the opening hours of the shop at the basement and it takes up to January 12, 2011. Im Uhrengeschaeft Tuerler an der Bahnhofstrasse 28/Paradeplatz in Zuerich kann derzeit eine einmalige Weihnachtsausstellung mit japanischer Lackkunst aus Kanazawa bewundert werden. Die kostbaren Kunstwerke, von japanischen Meistern nach der <Maki-e> Technik hergestellte Gegenstaende kosten alle von 2 500 bis 135 000 SFr. Zwei japanische <Maki-e> Meister Mr. Tamura Isshu und Mr. Hata Hiroshi kann man waehrend der Ausstellung bis 24. Dezember 2010 bei ihrer Arbeit beobachten. On Saturday, ice on the roads and temperatures up to minus ten centigrade caused many traffic accidents, in particular in the cantons of Berne, Aargau and Basel-country; in Geneva and in Lausanne, the public transport system (buses) had problems due to the snow and there were delays. In the Valais region and in the canton of Neuchatel, temperatures dropped down up to minus 26 centigrade. The coming week will remain again wintery cold. In der Schweiz gab es in der Nacht auf Freitag einen ersten Winter -Einbruch mit Schnee bis ins Flachland; der Schnee und die Kaelte kamen von Westen und im Mittelland in den Regionen Bern, Basel und Zuerich schneite es je nach Hoehe ein wenig und die Temperaturen gingen bis auf Minus fuenf Grad Celsius zurueck. Am Samstag fuehrte Eis auf den Strassen und Temperaturen bis zu Minus zehn Grad Celsius zu vielen Unfaellen, insbesondere in den Kantonen Bern, Aargau und Basel-Land; in Genf und Lausanne hatte der oeffentliche Verkehr (Busse) Probleme wegen dem Schnee und es gab Verspaetungen. Im Wallis und im Kanton Neuenburg sanken die Temperaturen auf bis zu Minus 26 Grad Celsius. Die kommende Woche bleibt weiterhin winterlich kalt. The prices in Japan have thus decreased now meanwhile for 20 months without interruption and under it suffers the economy. The economic consequences of a deflation are bad for a country. The turnovers and profits of enterprises are squeezed and as a consequence of it, no new investments will be done and working places are cut. Measures against that are hampered by a strong currency (Yen) and the prices on imports are going down. According to the Swiss toxicological Information Center (Tox) in Zurich, there were inquiries in 519 cases up to the beginning of November. The same period last year, there were only 308 cases; so many fungus poisonings had never before to be dealt with. In about 50% of the cases, the affected persons had to be assigned to hospital and the cause was mostly the <death cap> mushroom. That type looks similar to the Champignon mushroom and it can cause serious liver damage. Im gleichen Zeitraum des Vorjahres waren es nur 308 Faelle; so viele Pilzvergiftungen mussten bisher noch nie bearbeitet werden. Bei ungefaehr 50% der Faelle mussten die Betroffenen in das Spital (Krankenhaus) eingewiesen werden; bei schweren Vergiftungen war meistens der <gruene Knollenblaetter-Pilz> schuld. Dieser ist vom Aussehen her aehnlich wie der Champignon-Pilz und er kann schwere Leberschaeden verursachen. Dieses Jahr ist bisher noch niemand an einer Pilzvergiftung gestorben;die Leute (Sammler) sollten ihre gesammelten Pilze unbedingt in einer der rund 400 Pilz-Kontrollstellen im Land kontrollieren lassen. The new railway connection will be taken into operation as from the year 2015 and then the capacities at the railway joint Zurich can be improved. The tunnel drill machine with the name <Heidi> succeeded the breakthrough with a little delay. The overall construction project was started in 2007 and the cost shall be amount to about 2 billion Swiss Francs. In Zuerich konnte diese Woche wieder ein historischer Durchbruch eines neuen Eisenbahn-Tunnels gefeiert werden; es handelte sich um den <Weinberg-Tunnel>, welcher Bestandteil der 9,6 Kilometer langen <Durchmesserlinie> von Altstetten -Zuerich-Hauptbahnhof bis Oerlikon ist. In Betrieb kann die neue Eisenbahn-Verbindung ab dem Jahr 2015 genommen werden und damit koennen die Kapazitaeten am Eisenbahn- Knotenpunkt Zuerich verbessert werden. Presently, there is a moment regarding to a partial relocation of working place from London to Geneva; according to a report by the <Financial Times> the company Trafigura plans to move about 80 employees and the company Vitol about 25 employees to Geneva. Presently, there are about 700 Mio. tons of crude oil traded through Geneva per year; that is one third of all the worldwide oil transactions. The business field of trading employs in the Lake Geneva region about 8,000 people whereas 6,000 of them in Geneva. Die Aktivitaeten im Bereich Handel (Trading) nehmen in Genf seit dem Jahr 2006 pro Jahr um 5% zu, dies betrifft insbesondere den Rohoel- Handel, wie die Organisation <GTSA> (Geneva Trading and Shipping Association) erklaerte. We were a bit puzzled, nevertheless we moved out and at the next traffic light we turned right and after 50 meters we reached our Ryokan Tomoe. It is just opposite the Matsumoto river leading to the sea and apparently, it happens often that guests are stranded on that parking lot. It was just check-in time 3 p.m. and we were guided to our room with view to a beautiful Japanese garden. In the past, the location was still in the countryside, but now it is on the outskirt area of the town. The garden is designed in the <Kare-san-sui> style and the <Shoji> can be moved up and town. The staff is very kind, friendly and helpful; we were told by the Nakai-san, that a Swiss who married a local Japanese woman from Hagi-Shi had at Tomoe-Yado their wedding party. This Ryokan offers accommodation with and without meals; during our stay we had reserved three days with evening meal and the rest, we planned to eat out. At the entrance hall, the Ryokan has a small private pottery museum with famous artists from Hagi. I did not know, that <Hagi-pottery> (Hagi-yaki) is one of the famous and precious pottery in Japan.
