The 35-years old Swiss won the race with an advance of more than 2 minutes ahead of the Spanish athlete Martinez. The Swiss showed an impressive comeback to the top after having suffered from serious health problems; 16 months ago he suffered two pulmonary embolisms, of which he found himself in mortal danger. Last November, he even had to undergo surgery of his heel and he could re-take up contests only in March 2010. On the Swiss National Day, on August 1st 2010, he made his motto <If you can dream it, you can do it> once more come true. An der 20. Leichtathletik-Europameisterschaft in Barcelona, welche vom 27. Juli bis zum 1. August 2010 durchgefuehrt wurde, gewann der Schweizer Viktor Roethlin in ueberzeugender Weise die Goldmedaille, das heisst er wurde <Marathon-Europameister>. Der 35-jaehrige Schweizer gewann das Rennen mit einem Vorsprung von mehr als 2 Minuten auf den Spanier Martinez. Der Schweizer zeigte eine eindrueckliche Rueckkehr (comeback) an die Spitze nach schweren gesundheitlichen Problemen; vor 16 Monaten erlitt er zwei Lungen-Embolien, wobei er sich in Lebensgefahr befand. Im letzten November musste er sogar noch die Ferse operieren und erst im Maerz 2010 nahm er wieder an einem Wettkampf teil. Am Schweizer National-Feiertag dem 1. So far Kato Sogen with an age of 111 years was considered to be the eldest citizen of Tokyo; he was born on July 22, 1899. He lived with his family in the district of Adachi in Tokyo; the local civil servants wanted to visit him on several occasions and to honor him for his longevity. The relatives however refused them access or explained that he were away in the Gifu prefecture on the time. The authorities gradually became suspicious and sent the police to that house; the policemen however were not allowed to enter the house too. A grandchild of Kato-san visited then on her owns the police station and made a statement. According to that, Kato-san shall have retrieved to his room about 30 years ago refusing to eat and drink. He wanted to fast like <Kukai> in order to become a living Buddha. <Kukai> is the founder of the Shingon Buddhism and he is fasting since more than 1,000 years on <Koya-san>. Kato-san was less successful with his fasting; the family found him dead in his room in March 2010. The police have started an investigation against the relatives; they haven't informed about the death of Kato's wife six years ago. Bisher galt Kato Sogen mit einem Alter von 111 Jahren als der aelteste Buerger von Tokyo; er wurde am 22. Juli 1899 geboren. Er wohnte mit seiner Familie im Bezirk Adachi in Tokyo; die lokalen Beamten wollten ihn verschiedentlich besuchen und ihn fuer seine Langlebigkeit ehren. Die Angehoerigen verweigerten jedoch den Zutritt oder erklaerten er sei gerade in der Praefektur Gifu unterwegs. Die Behoerden wurden langsam misstrauisch und schickten die Polizei vorbei; diese wurden jedoch ebenfalls nicht ins Haus gelassen. Ein Enkelkind von Kato-san ging dann selber zur Polizeiwache und gab eine Erklaerung ab. Demnach haette sich Kato-san vor etwa 30 Jahren in sein Zimmer zurueckgezogen, wobei er Essen und Trinken verweigerte. Er wollte wie <Kukai> fasten um ein lebender Buddha zu werden; <Kukai> ist der Gruender des Shingon-Buddhismus und er fastet seit ueber 1 000 Jahren auf dem <Koya-san>. Kato-san war weniger erfolgreich mit seinem Fasten; die Familie fand ihn im Maerz 2010 tot in seinem Zimmer. Presently, that project is under study; with a new airline company, one could counter the foreign airlines such as Chinese Airlines from Taiwan and the South East Asian Airlines from the Philippines. Those offer connections to Japan and seam to be successful with their concept. ANA would become the major shareholder with a quota of 30% to 50% of the shares; further investors could participate up to 30% on the company too. There shall be talks with Japanese tour operators and hotel groups; as home base of the new company shall be considered the airport of Kansai in Osaka. Die japanische Fluggesellschaft All Nippon Airways (ANA) denkt ueber die Gruendung einer neuen Tochtergesellschaft nach, welche im Geschaeftsfeld <Billig-Preis-Fluege> aktiv werden koennte. Derzeit befindet sich dazu ein Projekt im Studium; mit einer neuen Flug- gesellschaft koennte man den auslaendischen Gesellschaften, wie Chinese Airlines aus Taiwan und South East Asian Airlines aus den Philippinen entgegen treten. Diese bieten Verbindungen nach Japan an und scheinen damit erfolgreich zu sein. ANA wuerde als Haupt- aktionaerin einen Anteil von 30% bis 50% der Aktien uebernehmen; weitere Investoren koennten sich mit bis zu 30% an der Gesellschaft beteiligen. In six cases, the fire fighters had to go on action due to the problem; overall, four people suffered light burns!! The Japanese authorities have ordered the enterprise <Apple> to present measures which should solve the problem. <Apple> was so far very reluctant to inform the customers with warnings and information appropriately about the risk; <Apple> was criticized about that behavior. Besides, the company has informed the Japanese authorities that there were 34 further problem cases with the gadget, which were however not serious. In Europe, there were similar incidents in the year 2009; in Great Britain one gadget even exploded. Das japanische Ministerium fuer Wirtschaft, Handel und Industrie (METI) meldete, dass 27 Musikspieler der Marke <iPod Nano> in Japan gebrannt haetten; das Ministerium spricht von Ueberhitzungs-Gefahr beim Aufladen der Geraete. In sechs Faellen sei deswegen sogar die Feuerwehr zum Einsatz gekommen; insgesamt haetten vier Personen leichte Verbrennungen erlitten!! Die japanischen Behoerden haben das Unternehmen <Apple> angewiesen, Massnahmen vorzulegen um das Problem zu beheben. <Apple> war bisher sehr zurueckhaltend, die Kunden mittels Warnungen und Informationen ueber die Gefahr angemessen zu informieren; <Apple> wurde deswegen kritisiert. Die Firma hat die japanischen Behoerden zudem benachrichtigt, dass es 34 weitere Problemfaelle mit dem Geraet gab, welche jedoch nicht ernsthaft waren. Like no one else he criticized again and again the power of the bureaucrats. He is well-known for the fact that he revealed many scandals among the Japanese bureaucracy, such as the <Taxi scandal>. Now, Nagatsuma-san made a survey among the 3,200 employees of his Ministry; more than 750 of them participated. The answers could be filled in anonymously. 14,5% of the answers confirmed that the Minister was performing with passion and that he had a clear opinion how he wanted to the lead the public administration. 1% said that his orders were reasonable and 75,6% complaint that they had to do more overtime hours because the Minster gave more exact instructions or he asked back. 48% meant that the Minister was arrogant. When taking up the office, he showed the bureaucrats the <list with the orders of the people> (Manifesto); many bureaucrats have to get used first to the leadership of the politics over the bureaucracy. <So far, the bureaucrats have written down something and the Ministers have nodded it through and signed it>, as Kan Naoto said in the past days. The survey is for Nagatsuma-san not a <big> problem; he is going on with his work in a fierce manner. Jetzt machte Nagatsuma-san eine Umfrage unter den 3 200 Angestellten seines Ministeriums; ueber 750 beteiligten sich, wobei die Antworten anonym ausgefuellt werden konnten. 14,5% der Antworten bestaetigten, dass der Minister mit Leidenschaft dabei sei und eine klare Auffassung habe, wie er die Verwaltung fuehren wolle; 1% sagten seine Auftraege seien vernuenftig. 75,6% beklagten sich ueber mehr Ueberstunden, da der Minister genaue Anweisungen gebe oder zurueckfrage; 48% meinten, der Minister sei arrogant. Other known Hedge-Funds such as <BlueCrest> and <Brevan Howard Capital Management> have settled down in Geneva already. <Moore Capital Management> shall have an estimated financial capacity of 14 billion US Dollars; their branch in London will remain to be the biggest in Europe. One risk group regarding to too much alcohol consumption is in particular youth. Here the Swiss Government plans to take measures by doing a revision of the law of alcohol; in particular the free delivery of alcoholic beverages shall be prohibited. In the focus are activities of restaurants such as the <Happy Hours> or loss-leader price offers such as <free champagne> for women. Overall, the consumption of alcohol is decreasing in Switzerland since 1990; people live more health-conscious and the blood alcohol limit was reduced in road traffic. In case of an accident when exercising certain sports, then that can have consequences from the side of the insurance companies. The so-called hazards are e.g. <Canyoning>, mountain climbing, paragliding, open sea sailings etc.; the insurance company (e.g. Helsana) can cut the insurance benefit by 50%. <Base jumping> is newly an <absolute> hazard too; humans are more willing to take risks in summer. The SUVA cuts the insurance benefits on about 200 accidents every year. Besonders im Sommer betreiben Leute Freizeit-Aktivitaeten, welche groessere Risiken einschliessen. Falls es zu einem Unfall bei der Ausuebung von gewissen Sportarten kommt, kann dies Konsequenzen seitens der Versicherung haben. Zu den so-genannten Wagnissen zaehlen beispielsweise <Canyoning>, Bergsteigen, Gleitschirm-Fliegen, Hochsee- Segeln usw.; die Versicherung (z.B. Helsana) kann die Leistung um 50% reduzieren. <Base jumping> ist neu ebenfalls ein <absolutes Wagnis>; die Menschen werden im Sommer risiko-freudiger. Die SUVA kuerzt jaehrlich bei zirka 200 Unfaellen die Leistungen. Due to the rain, the wooden trail is getting slippery and one has to be very careful, especially on the way back downhill. We reach the peak of <Kumano-Dake> after about 50 minutes. On the crest, the wind is strong and it is cold, especially because we had sweated strongly. There is an emergency mountain shelter (Hinan-goya), made of natural stone and wood, very simple; our Japanese companion recommends us to enter it and change our wet clothes. Afterwards, we feel much better in dry clothes and protected by the wind jacket. He guided us down about 100 meters near to the brink of a volcanic caldera; when looking down, we can see the deep-blue, green-blue water of the caldera lake; it is called <Okama>. It is an impressive experience together with nature.
