She admitted to have stolen flight passengers regularly on the route between Paris and Tokyo since January 2009; media speak about 140 thefts. She willingly <looked after> Japanese travelers, which were staying in the business class section of the aircraft; as experienced flight attendant she knew the cultural habits of the Japanese, which usually carried major amounts of cash with them. After the lights were turned off in the plane (oyasumi nasai), then she robbed the innocent, sleeping flight passengers their cash, purse, jewelry, credit cards out of jackets and bags; she took away even watches which were on the wrist. Due to the large number of cases, the police investigated and detected the delinquent based on the service schedule. She justified her deeds with financial problems. Eine 47-jaehrige langjaehrige Flugbegleiterin der Fluggesellschaft <Air France> (AF) wurde kuerzlich nach der Ankunft des Fluges von Tokyo nach Paris von der Polizei verhaftet. Sie gab zu seit Januar 2009 regelmaessig Flugpassagiere auf der Strecke Paris und Tokyo bestohlen zu haben; Medien sprechen von zirka 140 Diebstaehlen. Sie <betreute> gerne japanische Reisende, welche in der <Businessklasse> unterwegs waren; als erfahrene Flugbegleiterin kannte sie die kulturellen Gewohnheiten der Japaner, welche meistens viel Bargeld (Cash) bei sich trugen. Nach dem <Lichterloeschen> (oyasumi nasai) stahl sie den ahnungslosen, schlafenden Fluggaesten, Bargeld, Geldbeutel, Schmuck, Kreditkarten aus Jacken und Taschen; sie entwendete sogar Uhren vom Handgelenk. Wegen der grossen Anzahl von Faellen, untersuchte die Polizei und kam der Taeterin aufgrund der Dienstplaene auf die Spur. Fuer ihre Taten nannte sie finanzielle Probleme. The railway traffic however circulated normally; the blackout took about two hours. Around and in the underground of Zurich Central Station, there are still constructions for the new <connection through station> under way. At the Zollstrasse is located a temporary transformer station of EWZ, which supplies electricity to the construction site. A wildly growing blackberry plant forced its way into the transformer station through a ventilation slot and touching a bus bar. That caused a short circuit, an explosive flame and smoke; then, the 22,000 voltage power line for the Central station switched off. Am Mittwochnachmittag dieser Woche kam es im Hauptbahnhof von Zuerich (HB) zu einem (fast) vollstaendigen Stromausfall, wobei der Bahnhof und das unterirdische <Shop-Ville> (Einkaufsviertel) betroffen waren. Der Zugsverkehr hingegen funktionierte normal; der Stromunterbruch dauerte zirka zwei Stunden. Um und im Untergrund des HB-Zuerich gibt es weiterhin Baustellen fuer den neuen <Durchgangsbahnhof>; an der Zollstrasse steht deshalb eine temporaere <EWZ-Trafostation, welche Strom fuer die Baustelle liefert. Eine wild wachsende Brombeer-Pflanze draengte sich durch den Lueftungs-Schacht der Trafostation und beruehrte dabei eine Stromschiene. Es gab einen Kurzschluss, eine Stichflamme und Rauch; dann schaltete sich die 22 000 Volt- Stromleitung fuer den Hauptbahnhof aus. The campaign <My own cow> (ma vache a moi) is very popular among people in the City; there are 20 cows, all have their personal names, which are ready to accept a god parenthood of four months in summer. The godfather can visit his cow anytime and he has the privilege to buy Alps cheese on a bargain price. Besides, the cow godfather performs at least four hours of assignment on the Alp. Then he learns the real every day life of the farmers. Visitors from the City are often amazed, that the farmers work seven days a week on the Alp and that the farmers life is guided by nature and weather. For children and townspeople, the visit on the Alp is a valuable and important experience. Im Kanton Waadt (Vaud; Lake Geneva Region) gibt es seit fuenf Jahren die Moeglichkeit, eine Patenschaft (sponsorship) fuer eine Kuh auf dem Bergbauernhof <La Lecherette> fuer eine gewisse Zeit zu uebernehmen. Die Aktion <Meine eigene Kuh> (ma vache a moi) ist bei Leuten aus der Stadt sehr beliebt; es gibt 20 Kuehe, alle mit einem persoenlichen Namen, welche fuer eine Patenschaft von vier Monaten im Sommer bereit stehen. Der Pate kann seine Kuh jederzeit besuchen und er kann Alpenkaese zu einem Vorzugspreis kaufen. Der Kuhpate leistet zudem einen Arbeitseinsatz von mindestens vier Stunden auf der Alp; dabei lernt er den echten Alltag der Bergbauern kennen. Besucher aus der Stadt sind oft erstaunt, dass die Bauern sieben Tage in der Woche arbeiten und sich ihr Leben nach der Natur und dem Wetter richtet. Fuer die Kinder und die Staedter ist der Besuch auf der Alp eine wertvolle und wichtige Erfahrung. The Swiss enterprise posed already a few years ago the strategic question, which would be the most important resource and the result was it is WATER. For the production of foods water is needed; approximately calculated, each Swiss <eats> 4,000 liters of water per day, that means that amount of water is needed to produce the nutrition that we eat daily. Considered worldwide, nowadays already more water is used as it is provided in the normal cycle. Up to 2020, there will be worldwide a lack of water of 30% to 40%; that is the result of a study by the World Bank and McKinsey by order of Nestle. Basically, there would be enough water available if humans didn't handle the resource irresponsible and wastefully. In Switzerland, there is a correct water model concept, which charges the price for a cubic meter of water between SFr. 1 and SFr. 5. In the future, researchers say that there are threats of war because of water; 97% of the overall water volume is salt water and cannot be consumed by humans. The reason for that are illegal betting (baseball) in which sumo wrestlers were involved; besides, one sumo stable is in the critics because its stable master shall have maintained contacts with the Yakuza, the Japanese mafia. The Japanese are shocked about these scandals in Sumo sports; less visitors attended at the present tournament in Nagoya and the national TV station NHK did for the first time ever no live broadcast of the Sumo tournament. The Sumo sport is based on Shinto rituals such as e.g. the ritual cleaning by salt ahead of the fight. Comparable to the sleaze (unwritten agreements, thanks money etc.) of the economy, bureaucrats and politicians, in particular in the field of construction in the past, it is said that in the field of Sumo sports there shall have happened, never proven, prior accords of fights. The Sumo supporters hope, that the responsible persons in the Sumo organization are now really <purging> their stables and not only clean them <ritually>. In Japan gibt es derzeit in den Medien (TV, Zeitungen usw.) nur negative Schlagzeilen (Berichte) ueber den beliebten, traditionellen Sumo-Sport. Der Grund dafuer sind illegale Wettspiele (Baseball), in welche Sumo-Ringer verwickelt waren; ausserdem steht ein Ringerstall in der Kritik, da sein Meister Kontakte zur Yakuza, der japanischen Mafia gepflegt haben soll. Die Japaner sind schockiert ueber diese Skandale im Sumo-Sport; zum aktuellen Turnier in Nagoya kamen viel weniger Besucher und der staatliche Fernsehsender NHK sendete erstmals keine Direktuebertragung des Sumo-Turniers. Der Sumo-Sport basiert auf shintoistischen Ritualen, wie beispielsweise die rituelle Reinigung durch Salz vor dem Kampf. Vergleichbar mit dem <Filz> (Absprachen, Dankgelder usw.) von Wirtschaft, Buerokraten und Politikern, besonders in der Bauwirtschaft in der Vergangenheit, so wird im Sumo-Sport davon gesprochen, dass es nie bewiesene Absprachen bei Kaempfen gab. (Quelle: NZZ vom 23.07.2010) http://www.sumo.or.jp/index.html http://www.sumo.or.jp/eng/museum/index.html 7) 25年間の奉仕活動の後、フルカ山岳鉄道運転再開 (Fri. 23.07.2010 Smi) Re-Opening Furka-Mountain Rail after 25 years of volunteers work Eroeffnung Furka-Bergstrecke nach 25 Jahren Freiwilligen-Arbeit 「フルカ山岳鉄道」組合の多くの支持者や会員は、奉仕活動と資金協力によ って25年の夢を実現させた。このプロジェクトは積極的で熱心な人々の意思 と労働と寄付の証し。2010年8月12日17.8kmの鉄道の最後の区間が完成した。 そして、歴史的な蒸気機関車がオーバーヴァルトゥ（ヴァリス）の1,366mの 地点から1,546mのレアルプ（ウリ）迄再び運行される。乗客は2005年最後の 区間の修復に喜んで370万スイスフランを寄付して全線が繋がった。年間およ そ500人から700人が奉仕で働き、多くの人にとってこのプロジェクトが新し い人生の目的になった。 （出典：2010年7月23日付ターゲス・ アンツァイガー紙） The friends and members of the society <Furka Mountain Railway Stretch> (VFB) have achieved their dream in 25 years with lots of voluntary work and financial support; the project shows what active and diligent people can achieve by will, work and donations. On August 12th 2010, the last part of the 17.8 kilometers long railway section will be taken into operation; then the historic Cogwheel Steam Railway will drive throughout from Oberwald (VS) on 1,366 meters up to Realp (Uri) on 1,546 meters. A passenger donated spontaneously 3.7 Mio. Swiss Francs in 2005 for the renovation of the last section; then the gap could be closed. Per year about 500 to 700 volunteers have worked; for many of them the project became a new aim in life. Die Freunde und Mitglieder des Vereins <Furka-Bergstrecke> (VFB) haben ihren Traum mit viel freiwilligen Arbeit und finanzieller Unterstuetzung in 25 Jahren verwirklicht; das Projekt zeigt was aktive und fleissige Menschen mit Wille, Arbeit und Spenden erreichen koennen. Am 12. August 2010 wird das letzte Stueck der 17,8 Kilometer langen Eisenbahnstrecke in Betrieb genommen; dann faehrt die historische Dampfbahn wieder durchgehend von Oberwald (VS) auf 1 366 Metern bis nach Realp (Uri) auf 1 546 Metern. Ein Fahrgast spendete im 2005 spontan 3,7 Mio. SFr. fuer die Renovation des letzten Abschnitts; damit konnte die Luecke geschlossen werden. Pro Jahr haben zirka 500 bis 700 Freiwillige gearbeitet; fuer viele wurde das Projekt zum neuen Lebensziel. That's why he composed (dedicated) two songs in his latest album <20TEN> to the Canton of Vaud <Lavaux> region and the <chocolate> of Vevey. During a drive from Geneva airport to Montreux, the festival driver made with Prince a small sight-seeing tour through the vineyards to Vevey. In seinem neuen Album <20TEN> widmet er zwei Lieder (Songs) dem Waadtlaender Weingebiet <Lavaux> und der <Schokolade von Vevey>. Waehrend einer Fahrt vom Flughafen Genf nach Montreux, machte der Festival-Fahrer mit Prince eine kleine Besichtigungsfahrt durch die Weinberge nach Vevey. Near the entrance gate, there is a statue of the famous Haiku master <Matsuo Bashou>; among the Buddhist temples, there is one single Shinto shrine. We tasted the famous local specialty called <Morokoshi>; back home, we had a bath and watched Sumo on TV; during the Sumo tournaments, I always watch my favorite Sumo. The next day, the weather is a bit rainy, but nevertheless, we will go to the Zao-mountain region. For that reason, I decided to report on it later, when the results of the investigation will be reported. Presently, there are speculations by Swiss media about the cause of that terrible accident; was it a technical problem, the speed, the ballast under the track due to maintenance work etc. The data-recorder of the train is now under investigation by the Swiss police and federal authorities. I personally was deeply shocked when I heard the sad news about that disastrous accident; I express my deep sympathy to all people affected by that accident, especially to the Japanese guests and its relatives. I hope of a quick and full recovery of all injured and express my condolences to the family of the person who died.
