After the study, they are encouraged to go to their home countries, where they should use their new knowledge for the solving of conflicts and for the reconciliation. The project was initiated by the Basle couple Pierre and Catherine Brunner and there is a close co-operation with the University of Basle. The famous peace maker (researcher) Johan Galtung from Norway is lecturer at the academy and involved in the project too. There were a large number of applications for the course; many students from poor countries however cannot pay the tuition fee, therefore sponsors are welcomed. The academy plans to extend the variety and number of studies and the campus in the future. In Basel haben die ersten Studenten den neun Monate dauernden Studien-Lehrgang fuer ein Diplom, <Master of Advanced Studies in Peace and Conflict Transformation> im Maerz dieses Jahres angefangen; am ersten Nachdiplom-Kurs im Fachbereich <Friedens- und Konflikts- bewaeltung> nehmen 27 Studierende aus 18 Laendern teil. Nach Abschluss des Studiums sollen sie in ihren Heimatlaendern ihr Wissen fuer die Loesung von Konflikten und die Versoehnung einsetzen. Das Projekt wurde vom Basler Ehepaar Pierre und Catherine Brunner gestartet und es besteht eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit der Universitaet Basel; der bekannte Friedensforscher Johan Galtung aus Norwegen ist Dozent an der Akademie und ebenfalls im Projekt involviert. Es gab eine grosse Zahl von Anmeldungen fuer den Kurs; viele Studenten aus armen Laendern koennen jedoch die Studiengebuehr nicht bezahlen, weshalb Sponsoren gesucht werden. Die Akademie plant in Zukunft einen Ausbau des Studienangebotes und des Studienzentrums. (Quelle: Tages-Anzeiger vom 23.04.2010) http://www.world-peace-academy.ch/ http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johan_Galtung 2) 日本でミツバチ盗難多発 Bees-thieves are active in Japan Bienendiebe sind in Japan aktiv (Tue. 20.04.2010 Smi) 先頃、静岡県や他県で多くのミツバチが盗難にあっている。ミツバチはイチ ゴの栽培に欠かせないため、ミツバチの盗難によって、イチゴの収穫がおび やかされている。盗まれたミツバチは高価で転売されていると思われる。ミ ツバチの病気のために、3年前に輸入が停止されたために、ミツバチが品薄 状態になっている。昨年より輸入が再び許可されたが、昨年は冷夏のために 繁殖量が少なかった。イチゴは、蜜蜂によって受粉されることにより、品質 が向上し、収穫高が増える。 （2010年4月20日付けターゲス・アンツァイガー紙より） Recently in the prefecture of Shizuoka and in other regions of Japan, a large number of bees were stolen; bees are absolutely essential for the breeding of strawberries. The unknown robbers threaten the strawberry harvest with their crime; it is assumed that stolen animals shall be sold later at higher prices. There is presently a shortage of bees because the import of bees was stopped three years ago due to illness; since last year, the import is again possible. Based on the cold weather last summer, there is too little new blood among the bees. Strawberries are pollinated by bees and that improves the quality and the amount of the harvest can be increased. Kuerzlich wurden in der Praefektur Shizuoka und in anderen Gebieten Japans eine grosse Anzahl von Bienen gestohlen; Bienen sind fuer die Zucht von Erdbeeren unbedingt notwendig. Die unbekannten Raeuber bedrohen damit die Erdbeeren-Ernte; es wird angenommen, dass die gestohlenen Tiere, nachher zu hoeheren Preisen weiter verkauft werden. Es besteht derzeit ein Mangel an Bienen, weil die Einfuhr von Bienen wegen einer Krankheit vor drei Jahren ausgesetzt wurde; seit dem letzten Jahr ist der Import wieder erlaubt. Aufgrund des kalten Wetters im letzten Sommer gibt es zu wenig Nachwuchs bei den Bienen. Erdbeeren werden von den Bienen befruchtet und dadurch verbessert sich die Qualitaet und der Ertrag der Ernte steigt. In the category men, Switzerland won the last time in 2006 at the European Championship a bronze medal and in the category women the last time in 2003 a silver medal. An der Judo Europameisterschaft in Wien, welche vom 22. bis 25. April 2010 durchgefuehrt wurde, gewann Juliana Robra aus Genf in der Kategorie Frauen <Limite bis 70 kg> eine Bronze-Medaille und erreichte damit den dritten Rang. Bei den Maennern gewann die Schweiz letztmals bei der Europameisterschaft 2006 eine Bronze-Medaille und bei den Frauen im Jahr 2003 eine Silber-Medaille. (Quelle: Berner Zeitung BZ Online vom 23.04.2010) http://www.sjv.ch/home/default.asp http://www.eju.net/ http://www.judo2010.eu/ 4) 全日制学校で成果 Day schools bring better results Tagesschulen bewirken bessere Resultate (Fri. 23.04.2010 Smi) スイス連邦基金のプロジェクトにより、ベルン大学の2人の教授が調査した 結果、全日制の学校で学習する小学生は、2年後には他の児童より学習成果 においても能力においても優れていることがわかった。特に全日制の児童は 言語能力が優れており、より速く読み、理解することができる。社会性も優 れていて、日常の能力に長けている。（ナイフとフォークの使い方など）。 このほどの研究では、スイスの11の州で、総計521人の児童が調査された。 スイスでは全日制の学校はいまだ例外に過ぎない。過去数年間に、大部分の 地域で「コアタイム授業」が導入されたが、調査した教授は、優れた教育成 果を証明した「全日制の学校」を増やすことを奨励している。 「2010年4月23日付けターゲス・アンツァガー紙、4月22日付けSNFプレス発 表より） A study conducted by two professors of the University of Berne within the scope of the Swiss National Funds showed that primary school pupils, which are taught at day schools, had already more learning success and capabilities after two years than other children. In particular, <day school pupils> had better language expertise, they could read and understand quicker, they showed a positive social behavior and had more every day skills (e.g. how to use knife and fork). In the study 521 children from 11 Swiss cantons were involved; in the Switzerland, <day schools> are still an exception; in the past years however, nearly everywhere <core time> tuition was introduced. The authors recommend that increasingly <day schools>, which have a high-level educational quality, should be established. Eine Untersuchung zweier Professoren von der Universitaet Bern im Rahmen des Schweizer Nationalfonds zeigt, dass Primarschueler, welche an einer Tagesschule unterrichtet werden, schon nach zwei Jahren mehr Lernerfolge und Faehigkeiten haben als andere Kinder. Insbesondere besitzen <Tagesschueler> bessere Sprachkompetenzen, sie koennen schneller lesen und verstehen, sie zeigen ein positiveres Sozialverhalten und verfuegen ueber mehr Alltags-Fertigkeiten (z.B. Umgang mit Messer und Gabel). In die Studie wurden 521 Kinder aus 11 Schweizer Kantonen einbezogen; in der Schweiz ist die <Tagesschule> immer noch eine Ausnahme; in den letzten Jahren wurde jedoch fast ueberall der <Blockzeiten-Unterricht> eingefuehrt. The focus is in particular on the fact to detect <needless> public spending and to abolish it. The correspondent (Tages-Anzeiger) calls the organization in his report therefore the <red pencil-committee>. In the second round, representatives of institutions, such as semi-national agencies, pro-government enterprises etc. will be questioned and on that occasion, 151 projects, which received financial subsidies (subvention), are reviewed. The committee is chaired by Edano Yukio, the Minister of the <Government Revitalization Unit>; in the centre point at the hearings is the deputy Renho (Ms. Murata Renho), an educated lawyer and former journalist. Within the first round, <needless> spending of an equivalent of SFr. 220 Mio. could be saved. In the focus of the <investigation> are in particular organizations, which employ retired bureaucrats (Amakudari) and the amount of subventions; there shall be institutions, which do exist only because of the <Amakudari-Positions>! According to investigations by the newspaper <Asahi Shimbun>, there shall be 57 former bureaucrats which shall have moved from one <Amakudari-Position> to the next one and having received a retirement bonus. In the future, the two big banks have to be stocked not only with sufficient net assets, but they also must have sufficient liquid funds in order to cope with a <special> stress- situation during 30 days without public support. The compliance with the regulations has to be proved on a monthly base to the <FINMA>. Die Finanzmarktaufsicht (FINMA) setzt als Auswirkung aus der Bankenkrise fuer die beiden Schweizer Grossbanken UBS und Credit Suisse ab dem 30. Juni 2010 neue Liquiditaetsvorschriften in Kraft. In Zukunft muessen die beiden Grossbanken nicht nur ueber genuegend Eigenkapital verfuegen, sondern sie muessen ebenfalls ausreichende fluessige Mittel haben um eine <spezielle> Stress-Situation waehrend 30 Tagen ohne staatliche Unterstuetzung bewaeltigen zu koennen. Die Einhaltung der Vorschriften muss monatlich gegenueber der <FINMA> nachgewiesen werden. In the meantime, Switzerland would be an (ideal) location for Europe Headquarters for Japanese enterprises, because Switzerland is provided with a <Free Trade Agreement> with the EU too. According to EU-arguments, Switzerland would be a <customs-free gate> to Europe. >From the EU-side, there is (still) resistance regarding to an EPA- Agreement with Japan, the automobile industry (in Germany) shall resist against it. According to the institute <Copenhagen Economics>, an agreement would bring for EU-inhabitants a <welfare-effect> of 33 billion Euros and for Japan it would be 18 billion Euros. Letztes Jahr hat Japan mit der Schweiz ein Partnerschaftsabkommen (EPA) abgeschlossen; dieses war das erste Abkommen mit einem europaeischen Staat. Inzwischen waere die Schweiz ein (idealer) Standort fuer Europa-Hauptquartiere fuer japanische Unternehmen, da die Schweiz ebenfalls ueber ein Freihandelsabkommen mit der EU verfuegt. Gemaess EU-Argumentation waere die Schweiz damit ein <zollfreies Tor> nach Europa. Seitens der EU besteht (noch) Widerstand gegenueber einem EPA-Abkommen mit Japan; die Autoindustrie (in Deutschland) wehre sich dagegen. He requested on that occasion that commuters would increasingly work from home; with that measure, the environment could be protected, the employees could increase their quality of life and additionally (even) costs could be saved. Nearly 60% of the Swiss work not on their place of residence according to statistics.
